Swallowed, by Bush

I am replying to Marc Zeitlin's transcription of
"Swallowed" by Bush
I was unable to connect to marc's e-mail address
so I thought I'd try submitting to olga

Marc:
I was looking at your transcription of "Swallowed" by
Bush and I thought I'd offer my ideas on the song.
Here's what I figured out from the verse and chorus:
First, I'll show you the chord progression from the
verse. I'll illustrate the chords like this:
  example: EADGBE (string configuration)
                             4 6 6 5 x x
                                G#major

Verse:
G# C#
4665xx 9 11 11 10 x x

C5 (play 2x) F5/C
8 10 10 x x x 8 8 10 10 x x

On the C# and F5/C chords, I arpeggiate the last two
notes after I strum the chord.

Now for the chorus part: over you're transcribed
chord progression (G# - C5 - C#5 - Bb5) Nigel
Pulsford plays the following: to execute the first
two measures, you will need to play a unison bend
on the G and B strings. The last two bars feature
arpeggiated "double stops, or simply put, a two
note chord, on the B and E strings:

To execute the unison bend, you will bend the note
indicated on the G string intil the pitch matches the
note on the B string:

          G# C5
e I----------------------------------------------------------------------I
b I---9--9--9--9--9--9--9--9----8--8----8--8--8---8---8--8---I
g I-11-11-11-11-11-11-11--10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-I
d I----------------------------------------------------------------------I
a I----------------------------------------------------------------------I
e I----------------------------------------------------------------------I

         C#5 Bb5
e I--------9-----9---9--9--9--9\sl\-6--6--6--6--6--6--6--6---I
b I----9------9------9--9--9--9\sl\-6--6--6--6--6--6--6--6---I
g I---------------------------------------------------------------------I
d I---------------------------------------------------------------------I
a I---------------------------------------------------------------------I
e I---------------------------------------------------------------------I

Then there's Gavin's one note "solo before the solo:"
He plays the E note (9th fret, G string) in 16th note
pattern for two measures. In the second measure,
on the 3rd beat, he starts to slightly bend the note
as he's still playing the 16th note pattern until the
pitch reaches F#:

e I-------------------------------------------------------------------I
b I-------------------------------------------------------------------I
g I--9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9I
d I-------------------------------------------------------------------I
a I-------------------------------------------------------------------I
e I-------------------------------------------------------------------I

(start bending here til note is at F# pitch)
e I------------------------------
b I------------------------------
g I--9-9-9-9-9-9-9-9-------
d I------------------------------
a I------------------------------
e I------------------------------

I also know the solo, so if you're interested, e-mail
me at [email protected] and I would be
glad to show it to you. By the way, I don't own a
copy of Razorblade Suitcase, I've just heard the song
on the radio about 50,000 times. I also saw them
perform the song on "Saturday Night Live" a couple
of months ago. Hope to chat with you soon!
